Albion Online Where to Buy Beds and Tables

Ah, sweet sleep. By now, thanks to a combination of Ariana Huffington and a rapidly growing wellness industry, you're likely well aware of the impact a good night's sleep has on health and mood—unless you've been asleep for the last 10 years, that is. Such an increased interest in the activity has arisen hand-in-hand with an explosion of direct-to-consumer resources offering up exactly what you need for a perfectly restful slumber: amazing, never-leaving-this-spot bedding.

Luckily for me, my time as an editor in the home field has largely coincided with this phenomenon, meaning I've gotten the pleasure of test driving nearly all of the category's most recent offerings. By now, I've become a veritable sleep encyclopedia, rattling off a slew of pros and cons at any friend's simple question of "What sheets should I buy online?" And now, lucky reader, I'm sharing that wisdom with you. Without further ado: The best kind of sheets you can buy online, for every type of person, every preference of material, and every price range.

Best for Crisp Cotton: Snowe

For the no-frills sleeper who wants reliable quality, I give you: Snowe Home. The startup home brand is the brainchild of two MBAs who believe that "exceptional quality and thoughtful design [should] be attainable." When Rachel Cohen and Andres Modak couldn't find simple, high-quality items for their home, they decided to make them, and Snowe was born. The company specializes in the kind of so-simple-you-can't-live-without-it items that you're always struggling to find—from the perfect cereal bowl to a graceful, yet durable wine glass. It's little surprise then that their simplest bedding product, Egyptian cotton percale sheets, are a winner, staying crisp but still comfortable—so your bed will never look too messy, even if you've stayed in it all day.

Best for Soft Cotton: Boll & Branch

Banded Sheet Set

$207.00

If you want something a little more soft than crisp, but aren't a fan of flannel (which, incidentally, Boll & Branch does also do, and quite well), Boll & Branch's organic cotton is your go-to. It's buttery soft without that weird slippery feeling you get from those cheap jersey sheets you likely became all too familiar with in college. The company is all about fair trade and organic materials, and they let their mission and quality be the focus. You won't find crazy prints or monograms here, but classic offerings in stripes, plaids, and understated patterns (the banded sheets are my favorite) that go with any room decor. Yes, it's a tad pricier than some competitors, but that price tag comes with a Fair Trade and GOTS certification, so you know your dollars are being well spent.

Best for Linen: Parachute

Pinstripe Linen Sheet Set

$199.00

Do you dream of the casual airiness of a California cool interior? Then Parachute's linen is for you. The company was founded in 2014 after Ariel Kaye was inspired by bedding she slept in on the Amalfi Coast. She took her inspiration back stateside, where she merged that original vision with her Los Angeles home to create a brand that embodies effortless, laid-back style (something which both Italians and Californians do well—must be that ocean air). Though Parachute's offerings now span bath, table linens, and mattress, the standout is the linen, which is sure to make even your cramped apartment look like one of the brand's uber-Instagrammable stores (see above!).

Best for Twill: Brooklinen

For those who want value for their dollars—and a middle ground between soft and crisp—Brooklinen is the way to go. While the company, whose ubiquitous "b" tote bags you've undoubtedly seen on your morning commute (reason enough to buy 'em?) offers the lowest intro price of its competitors, I'd make the humble suggestion that those seeking softness forgo the $99 percale starter set and upgrade to the twill, a super-soft option that's cozy but still lightweight. If flannel is a bit too clammy for your liking (can you tell I'm not a flannel fan?), this is the way to go. What sets twill apart, exactly? It's woven diagonally, giving it a unique ridged texture (and added breathability) and then brushed for added softness. And, as Brooklinen's website rightfully claims, it gets "softer and softer with every wash!"

Best for Bamboo: Loomstead

Bamboo Sheet + Pillowcases - White

Ok, so we've covered cotton, linen, and twill; did you know there are also sheets made from bamboo? Yes, the snack of choice for everyone's favorite kind of black-and-white bear is also spun and woven into bedding. Bamboo bedding is great for three reasons: It's super soft, it's super eco-friendly, and it's super antibacterial. So, if you're a sensitive-skinned environmentalist who perhaps fudges the numbers a little when asked how often he washes his sheets, this one is for you. Since bamboo requires much less water to grow than cotton or flax (which makes linen), its production saves tons of gallons of water—and, it's fast-growing, making it extremely renewable. Bamboo strands don't pill and they're hypoallergenic and anti-bacterial, so they'll keep your bed nice and clean.

Best for Monograms: Hill House Home

White, Footwear, Bed sheet, Leg, Textile, Comfort, Shoe, Dress, Furniture, Room,
Custom pillows from Hill House Home.

hillhousehome.com

$130.00

Nell Diamond started Hill House Home as an ecommerce-era answer to the monogrammed bedding that was ubiquitous in her childhood home. But, as anyone who follows the Insta story-prolific founder on Instagram or has been to Hill House Home's pattern-swathed New York store can attest, Diamond isn't exactly a proponent of prim and proper subtlety. While bedding from Hill House Home would pass any discerning Upper East Side mother's quality test, there's often more to their product than meets the eye. Formal-looking script belies cheeky catchphrases on the brand's accent pillows, and Hill House Home welcomes creative personalization on all of its products. In short, it's a company made for those with high standards—but a strong creative streak and, ideally, a healthy sense of humor.

Best for Kids: Riley

Jr. Sateen Duvet Cover & Sham Set

Why shouldn't your kids have a cozy, cute bed too? Luckily, Riley, the newest company to the DTC bedding game, offers its Portugal-made bedding in kids sizes. Riley Jr. offers crib sheets and Twin bed-sized options in soft sateen plus cute accent pillows and blankets. Creative motifs like Crazy Animals, Stars, and Origami are sure to make any kid excited to crawl into bed for a nap—and isn't that every parent's dream come true? Plus, in a different kind of family-friendly move, for every blanket Riley sells in 2019, the company will donate one to a family in need through a partnership with nonprofits Robin Hood and Women in Need. Talk about sweet dreams.
